Michelle here from Paddle Creek Writers. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas season and are off to a great start in the new year. I am looking forward to what the writing year will bring; including getting my second novel out.
Journaling daily is kind of a funny thing. Scribbling thoughts and emotions for no real purpose. Nothing more than simply acknowledging those thoughts and giving form to the emotions.

It’s that time of year again. A brand new calendar is hung on the wall or added to the planner. All those squares are white, crisp, clean. Empty.
Other ways to do a retreat would be to set up childcare for a full Saturday or Sunday and with goals in hand, write at a local café or library. If children aren’t a concern, maybe go to a local hotel for one night and check in early and check out late to get the most of a quiet place to write.
If you long for a writing retreat or a conference, but can’t get away for that long or afford the registration fees, there are other ways to go on a writing retreat.
